The snow is melting and the height of the mush on the road is much shorter. We are able to get out! I really don't want the schools to re-open yet, though. The superintendent Keith Ballard was on KRMG radio this morning and sounds like he would prefer to err on the side of safety as well.
Most Oklahoma kids that walk to school aren't properly equipped to keep dry in the deep drifts they would have to navigate, and would likely be walking in the street, endangering themselves, rather than trying to climb through snow drifts in yards.
With more snow coming, it's beginning to look like another week of no school. Or at best, one or two days open this week.
