Oh! Oh! Oh! I know! I know! Think pencil-and-paper drafting table, but instead of a drawing surface, it's a giant monitor!

So how would you keep it from getting damaged as you would also want to be able use the surface for solid objects such as a telephone ... and a coffee mug ... There would have to be side wings that weren't part of the display.
